Yeah, I haven't seen it out here and when SF has a heat wave that's one of the best solutions.

Altho', I've seen the shaved ice carts [spanish/hispanic style] in the summer though but I'm not sure if there are stores that make it out here.

PS: Sweet pengrin....the Spanish shaved ices are called RASPAS aka snowcones. :)

Haven't seen any Italian Ices here...I'll ask the b/f. He'll know...

Hey Frito Pie!!! How are ya?! *hugs*

I definitely didn't want to insult and I do not know the origins to shaved ice. I'm glad you clarified that. Thanks dear!!

I hope to see ya at the foodie outings next month.

        :)

Aren't there also folks in the Mission selling delicioso coco helados?

Those were a staple of my high school diet.

From what I've gathered from long time residents who've frequently traveled to NYC, no Italian Ices here in SF.

Sounds like a good marketing opportunity...

    WhAT!!?? No italian ices!! WTF!

Okay, I was able to handle the excessive hippies on the street (I live in Berkeley)

as well as the masses of gay men giving me that "oh you are such a cutie little latino boy" look

or the stupid BART curfew or the extreme laid back manner of many folks, that was all okay.

But no italian ices... damn.... ugh I guess a small price to pay for the peace and quiet I have been able to find here.
